Time4Hope specialises in offering a range of counselling services tailored to the needs of the individual this includes one to one, family, carers, couples, small groups who are caring for Children/Young People with additional needs. Counselling offers a safe, impartial and confidential environment to explore the complex feelings and challenges that raising a child/young person with additional needs can bring into your life day to day. I have counselled parent/carers who have children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder(ASD), Asperger’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity (ADHD), Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), Downs Syndrome and a range of many physical disabilities.

Counselling for families whose children and young people have additional needs is just one aspect of my expertise, I am also able to offer counselling covering the following: bereavement; separation; divorce; low self-esteem; domestic abuse – both physical and psychological; post-traumatic stress-disorder; adult survivors of sexual abuse.

Counselling is offered on a short or long term basis depending on your needs. To begin with there will be an initial meeting to discuss what you would like to work on and how many sessions will be of benefit to you (each session lasts for one hour).

Time4Hope are able to offer tailor made courses either individually or within a small group. The prime focus of the courses is to build on Emotional Resilience, Self Confidence, Assertiveness and general Wellbeing. This can also be carried out in small group settings which can provide invaluable opportunities to meet others in a similar situation and develop friendships and support networks which may have been lacking before. Please refer to personal development page for further details.

Nilam listened to me and did not judge me. She gave me the ability to believe in my judgements which in turn helped me to voice these.

The Time4Hope Service should be widely available to schools who have a child with a disability. Schools and the NHS are so underfunded and do not always have the time to speak. There will be many parents like myself who will be crying out for a service like this.
